Daniel Grigg - St. Charles School

When I transferred to St. Charles School for my eighth grade year, it was in the hopes that I would get more out of my school experience. This has happened and more. Right away, from my first day at St. Charles, it was apparent that everyone in the school, students and faculty, were simply very kind and caring. They are open to new ideas, and to trying things. I also feel that the teachers are very skilled, and are committed to ensuring that the students learn, retain, and understand the material that is taught. What I most enjoy about St. Charles are the numerous opportunities it presents to me, from Mass band every Tuesday, to show choir, to the spring musical, in which I will perform next year. Altogether St. Charles has been the best choice I could make for my eighth grade year. The people I have encountered and will encounter will leave a positive, lasting imprint on my life.

Judy Shoup – Catholic School parent

As the administrator of a Catholic pre-school program, I realize the importance of a Catholic education being introduced to children at an early age.  By introducing the faith to children at an early age, it becomes a part of their lives.

As a parent, I also realize how important an elementary Catholic education is and we are blessed as a family every day by what our Catholic school brings to all of us, not just my son, the student. God is present in my son.  This is evident in the way he respects others and himself; he is kind and considerate to his fellow classmates, his teachers, and those in authority.  And the curriculum he was taught in a Catholic elementary school far exceeded my expectations.  My son is in honor classes and maintains high grades.

Because Catholic elementary school has been such a positive experience for my child, I was not surprised that he wanted to continue his faith journey at a local Catholic high school. We are delighted that he has chosen this option, and while it is a sacrifice for our family, it is one we make willingly. I am excited for our family as we continue to grow deeper in faith, richer in blessings and closer to God in the next phase of my son’s Catholic education. The gift of a Catholic school education is one gift you can give your child that I can honestly say keeps on giving for a lifetime.

J.P. Gregory - Chaminade-Julienne

Three words describe my experience through Catholic education… nurturing, faithful, and fun!

I woke up every day excited to go to school. At St. Christopher Elementary School in Vandalia, I discovered gifts and talents that I possessed through the loving and encouraging environment my teachers provided from kindergarten through eighth grade. St. Christopher is committed, as are all our Catholic schools, to faith-filled teaching. My years at St. Christopher helped prepare me to succeed as a high school student at Chaminade Julienne in downtown Dayton.

Chaminade Julienne High School is an educational community of faith-filled faculty, staff and students. I knew I was going to be fostered, challenged, and motivated through the commitment of Catholic teaching, specifically with the support of the Society of Mary (Marianists) and the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. My four-year experience at CJ inspired me to be a life-long learner and leader—all while making great friends, growing in confidence, and having a blast! CJ allows individuals the freedom and opportunity to “learn, lead, and serve,” to quote the Marianists.

I’m thankful that God blessed me with a supportive family who saw the value in Catholic education. I know that I would not be the same person today, deeply committed to living out my faith, if it were not for the very rich path that I was afforded to travel through the benefits of a Catholic school education.
